This is Quails Yellow Berry, aka Moon. One of the SEXIEST stallions alive. I happened upon him at the AQHA World Show in 2015 where he took Reserve World Champion Amateur Tie-down Horse. I don't generally talk to owners when I'm just shooting stock reference photos (I don't want them to feel like I'm trying to wrangle a commission from them) but I had my camera pointed at Moon and his rider, James O'Brien (http://www.obrienhorses.com/) for waaaay to long! So I went up to introduce myself and found him to be an extremely kind person, and, yes, he was wondering why that strange woman had her camera pointing at him the whole time!! (BTW - his family purchased the painting :)
No matter what stage of life I have been in - student, wife or mother - my passion for creating and drawing has been a constant companion. Horses were my first passion. From the moment I could hold a pencil I was drawing them. In later years, I painted furniture, clothes, glass and dabbled in papier-mache. In 2011 my show horse "broke" (don't worry, Luke's living the Life of Riley out at our ranch). That year, as I tried to rehabilitate him. I found myself with a LOT of spare time so I pulled out the starter-set of acrylic paints my husband had given me the year before. It was love at first stroke! To be honest, I learned how to mix paint by watching YouTube videos. I am self-taught through trial and error and technology. But...
